What are dermal fillers?

Although most people associate aging with wrinkling skin, there are other forces at play that may cause you to look older than you feel. Underneath the skin on your face, you have a thin layer of fat that’s held in place by collagen. This fat is behind those cute, cherub cheeks you once had, as well as the full mouth that spoke of youth.

When your collagen production begins to slow down, that thin layer of fat succumbs to gravity and starts to migrate downward, leaving sunken skin and deep lines in its wake.

The same process happens in your hands, which is why your bones start to become more pronounced as the fat disappears.

With dermal fillers, Dr. Gonzales can restore volume in these areas, filling in the deep lines and valleys to create a smoother, more youthful appearance.

What areas can dermal fillers treat?

What dermal fillers are available?

How long will the filler last?

Results vary depending upon how your body processes the hyaluronic acid, but most patients enjoy one to two years of plumper, fuller skin on their face and hands.
